ORDERING PROCESS:
1. Please send an inquiry form, or email me at [email protected], to commission your portrait. Please include a few good photo options for me to work from. Photos taken at a high resolution and in natural lighting tend to make the best pieces. A photo catching a candid, funny, or natural moment always makes for a great piece of art! If the photos are too low quality, I will not be able to complete your request. Unfortunately, I have accepted commissions in the past where the reference photos were very poor, and the result was a piece of artwork that was below my personal standard. Thank you for understanding!
2. After I review the pictures, I will email you my pick for the best to work from and we can discuss details for the finished work at that time. Once photo selection is sorted, I will send a request for the 50% non-refundable deposit. Turnaround time is usually within 8-12 weeks depending on my orders, but a rush can be placed for a fee if you need it sooner.
3. Once the portrait is done, I will send you a photo. Changes can be discussed at this time and I will make all attempts to make sure you are happy with the end result. As a note, I will draw what is on the photo provided. If you provide a photo that you feel is unflattering in any way, I cannot draw it in a way that will satisfy. Please make sure the photo you provide is what you would like captured, as I attempt realism based on the photo.
4. I will then send a request for the remainder of the cost plus the shipping. Shipping is through USPS Priority and covers $50 insurance, more can be applied at your request. Cost of shipping and insurance depends on size of the piece. International shipping is available and costs can vary depending on many factors. A custom quote can be provided.
FAQs
How will my package be shipped?
I ship via USPS Priority 2 - 3 business day for all orders within the United States. This includes a tracking number and $50 worth of insurance. More can be applied at your request and for an additional cost.
For international orders, I ship via USPS First Class International, 6 - 10 business day. This service does not include tracking or insurance and delivery times may vary widely depending on your location. If you would like to upgrade your shipping please send me an email before check out so I can give you an accurate quote. Any taxes or import duties are the responsibility of the buyer and have not been included in the shipping charges.
I ship to the address provided at checkout so please double check to make sure this information is correct!
Drawings will be sprayed with fixative and covered with a protective paper wrap to keep from smudging. They are loosely rolled and mailed in a tube mailer. Please take note to handle carefully once out of the packaging and while framing. Fixative keeps the pigment in place, but harsh handling or rubbing against the work will result in smudging. Paintings will be packaged in protective bubble wrap and mailed in an appropriately-sized box.
Do you offer refunds or exchanges on custom portraits?
Unfortunately, I do not offer refunds or exchanges on custom portraits. I will work with you to make sure the piece is one that you are absolutely satisfied with. If you commission a drawing and cannot offer a clear, well-lit photograph to work from, I will ask for another photo or turn down the commission if a quality photo is not available. The more detailed the photo, the more detailed the artwork. If you can only provide a fuzzy dark picture, you will probably not be satisfied with the end result.
