How to commission a portrait
- Please send an inquiry form or email me at email@example.com to commission your portrait. I will send a PayPal request for the 50% non-refundable deposit.
- Once you have secured the deposit, send at least a few good photo options for me to paint from. Photos taken at a high resolution and in natural lighting tend to make the best paintings. A photo catching a candid, funny or natural moment always makes for a great painting! Once I have reviewed the pictures, I will email you my pick for the best to work from and we can discuss backgrounds, colors, etc at that time. Once you have approved, I will start working!
- I will email a photo when it is finished (Normal turnaround time is 4-8 weeks depending on my workload. If you need it sooner, please let me know). I will make any changes you request at this time.
- Once you are completely satisfied, I will send you a PayPal request for the remainder of the cost, plus shipping. Oil paintings will need to dry completely before shipping, but will still be shipped within the 8 week turnaround. I will send a tracking number once your painting has shipped.
How will my package be shipped?
I ship via USPS Priority 2 - 3 business day for all orders within the United States. This includes a tracking number and $50 worth of insurance.
For international orders I ship via USPS First Class International 6 - 10 business day. This service does not include tracking or insurance and delivery times may vary widely depending on your location- if you would like to upgrade your shipping please send me an email before check out so I can give you an accurate quote. Any taxes or import duties are the responsibility of the buyer and have not been included in the shipping charges.
I ship to the address provided at checkout so please double check to make sure this information is correct!
Do you offer refunds or exchanges on custom portraits?
Unfortunately, I do not offer refunds or exchanges on custom portraits. I will work with you to make sure the painting is one that you are absolutely satisfied with. If you commission a painting and cannot offer a clear, well lit photograph to work from, I will ask for another photo. The more detailed the photo, the more detailed the painting. If you can only provide a fuzzy dark picture, you will probably not be satisfied with the paintings end result.
